(Pictured) CHARLOTTE, NC – The Western District of North Carolina Federal Judges and United States General Services Administration (GSA) celebrate the 100th anniversary of the historic Charles R. Jonas U.S. Courthouse and the groundbreaking of the courthouse modernization and annex project.

 

About the Project

In 2016, Congress appropriated funding for multiple Federal Courthouse construction projects in the GSA Southeast Sunbelt Region. Funds were allocated for the design and construction of a new U.S. Courthouse Annex and the repair and alteration of the Charles R. Jonas Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Charlotte, North Carolina. The project will consist of a 198,000 GSF new annex building,  renovation of the existing 134,438 GSF Charles R. Jonas U.S. Courthouse, and approximately 83 inside parking spaces.
