136-page report details specs for new Lancaster County prison ahead of January public input meeting

CGL was hired by Lancaster County in mid-2023 to provide services to kick off a new phase of development for their jail infrastructure project. CGL serves as the County’s owner’s representative and will be an advocate and project manager for Lancaster County’s design and construction project.


“Lancaster County officials earlier this month released a comprehensive 136-page document that dives into the minutiae of what a new county prison would need to include. The draft report, compiled by Miami-based consulting firm CGL, details everything from the size of utility closets to the materials recommended for a law enforcement dog kennel.

The report will likely play a prominent role in the county’s next “listening session” on Jan. 10, when officials will receive public feedback. Any county resident can participate.
