Samar is a Data Analyst & Research Scientist at CGL with experience analyzing complex data from various sources, including criminal justice records, victim surveys, and intervention programs. She has a talent for turning data into actionable insights for policy development, funding allocation, and strategic planning. Samar is skilled in creating and presenting data visualizations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, such as supervisors, legislators, and community partners.

Which core value do you relate to the most?

I most identify with “Make It Better” because I’m always looking for opportunities to improve processes and outcomes, especially when it comes to data-driven work. In my current role, that mindset has helped me incorporate new tools to improve data visualizations and create dashboards that not only meet immediate needs but also lay a stronger foundation for long-term use.

What's your favorite part about working at CGL?

I have really enjoyed getting to know my team and incorporating the Research, Analysis, & Forecasting Unit’s work into other Justice Service projects because it allows us to collaborate with other teams at CGL.

Where in the world would you like to travel to next?

I have a couple places on my list, but I really want to visit Greece and see a few of the cities.
