Placer County Jails Facility Maintenance

Since July 2016, CGL has managed maintenance services for all of Placer County’s jail space. including the South Placer Adult Correctional Facility (SPACF) and the Auburn Jail. Most recently, CGL was also tasked with providing select maintenance services for the Placer County Juvenile Detention Facility in Auburn.

At the onset of the contract, CGL’s technicians identified and tagged 851 assets for inclusion in the Maintenance Connection CMMS. CGL also managed the CMMS implementation to include subcontractor management, inventory management,
staff scheduling, work order management, warranty management, performance monitoring, and client reporting.

CGL is responsible for the maintenance of all building systems (HVAC, Plumbing, Security, Electrical, Kitchen & Laundry, Fire/Life Safety), CMMS management, and managing all specialty contractors.

CGL has eight on-site technicians to perform comprehensive facility maintenance services. CGL’s team includes a Facility Manager and an administrative assistant who ensures CMMS data entry and quality.

CGL’s maintenance team completes an average of 4,920 work orders per year in Placer County’s jails. They also regularly conduct training classes for all Placer County Sheriff’s Office personnel who are responsible for entering or tracking maintenance needs.

CGL’s Facility Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations and service delivery.
The facility manager reviews and issues work orders, develops work schedules, assigns work orders to technicians, manages procurement and inventories, develops and reviews budgets, and interfaces daily with justice center leadership. The facility manager is also a skilled technician and performs preventive and reactive maintenance when necessary.
