Nathaniel R. Jones U.S. Bankruptcy Courthouse & Federal Building
Our Expertise
The Nathaniel R. Jones U.S. Bankruptcy Courthouse in Youngstown introduces up-to-date judicial design and technology to the district, while serving as a contemporary civic monument. The design of the structure provides a cohesive transition for the diverse urban area from the central business district to the city’s cultural neighborhood. The 49,500-square-foot building provides spaces for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, the U.S. Bankruptcy Clerk, the Internal Revenue Services, a U.S. Congressman, local Government Services Administration Offices, the U.S. Marshall Service, and the Federal Protection Service.
Our firm provided program validation, courtroom design consulting, micro-programming, and tenant space design. Our team addressed both the district’s immediate and future needs, creating a bankruptcy courtroom on the third floor and additional shell space on the first floor for a future courtroom. Both spaces are planned and designed to incorporate future secure prisoner-handling areas.
