Rollin Cook

Rollin has over 30 years of experience in corrections and public safety leadership. He previously served as Commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Correction and Executive Director of the Utah Department of Corrections, where he managed large-scale operations, facility transitions, and multimillion dollar budgets. His expertise includes facility planning, operational improvement, leadership development, culture change, and incarcerated programming. Rollin began his career in Salt Lake County, ultimately serving as Chief Deputy. He is a nationally recognized consultant and trainer, advising agencies on correctional operations, strategy, and system-wide improvements across the country.

What's your favorite part about working at CGL?

The opportunity to work with public safety professionals around the world and develop new strategies that not only make our communities and facilities safer but also provide environments where people feel productive, empowered, and appreciated.

Which core value do you relate to the most?

Care about people. When we ensure that people are our highest priority, it puts us on the right path to do the right thing, make it better, and strive for excellence. As Zig Ziglar so eloquently stated, “You don’t build a business, you build people, and people build the business.”

If you could pick one superpower - what would it be and why?

I would like to have the ability to teleport. Our ability to communicate and meet has been enhanced greatly with technology, but there is nothing more effective than meeting with people in person. Not only those we work with but also our families.
