Marayca Lopez Presents at IDB’s Citizen Security Week in Washington, D.C.
The week of September 9, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) held its 11th Citizen Security Week at the headquarters of the IDB in Washington, D.C. This event is the largest regional meeting for dialogue and exchange of experiences in matters dedicated to security and justice issues in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). In this edition, the central theme was the future of citizen security and justice institutions in LAC and what innovations are being offered to the region.
The first two days of the event were dedicated to Regional Policy Dialogue, where Ministers of Justice and Security and Interior Ministers from across the region got together to discuss the challenges and advances in citizen security and justice policies. The event showcased current and past IDB projects that represent good and innovative practices in the region. The featured projects included las Unidades de Atención Integral (UAI) in Costa Rica, for which CGL provided planning and programming services. Event attendees learned all about the project from CGL’s Marayca López and were able to view the UAI facility models on display all week in the exhibit hall.
The event was attended by ministers and senior officials of the Ministries of the Interior and Security of Argentina, Belize, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Suriname and Uruguay.
