Karl has more than 40 years of experience in criminal justice system planning and organizational reform at the federal, state, and local levels. He has held senior leadership roles in corrections and government finance, giving him a unique ability to align policy, operations, and capital planning with long-term goals. Karl has led system assessments, staffing and operational reviews, and comprehensive facility planning across the country. His work helps justice agencies navigate resource constraints and shifting priorities with data-informed strategies that promote sustainable growth and meaningful organizational change.

What's your favorite CGL project you've worked on?

The Alaska Department of Corrections Performance Review was a great experience. It took me from the Kenai Peninsula in the southern part of the state, up to Nome by the Arctic Circle. Good people, an awe-inspiring environment, and a project that produced tangible benefits for the state.

Which core value do you relate to the most?

‘Strive for Excellence.’ In providing the best possible solutions to clients that are struggling to meet basic needs, we make the world a better place.

Where in the world would you like to travel to next?

Tanzania – for the opportunity to experience a safari on the Serengeti.
